Astra Antiques Centre opened for business in 1990 and our 100 plus dealers
who operate within the building offer a diverse array of Antiques and
Collectables ranging from high end period furniture to retro plastic lampshades.
Located at Old RAF Hemswell,
home of the Lancaster, which closed in 1967. Today the site boasts the
largest collective of Antiques centres in Europe,
of which Astra is one of 7, also one of the largest Sunday
market and car boots in the UK. Most of the buildings remain, including the
hangers which are used as grain stores. We are a 20/30 minutes drive from Swinderby and Newark Antique Fairs which are possibly the largest in Europe , held 6 times a year.
Our period costume departments are probably the largest in the country,
stocking everything from tie pins & braces to original 1940's vintage
clothing and accessories making it ideal for film, stage and TV work or just that
one off glamorous event.
We are open daily from 10am – 5pm 7 days a week, 362 days a year and late
evenings are available by appointment, why not visit our centre and indulge
yourself in a trip down memory lane or try our cabinet room and give yourself the opportunity to
purchase for you or your friends a unique gift.
Over 70 cabinets with items ranging from Whimsies to Bow and Chelsea China.
Ample parking on site is available for cars, vans and lorries.
Shipping and delivery worldwide can be arranged.
A Coffee Shop is on site so you can revive yourselves and start the whole
process again.
